Drink what in SNH? >> Bubble Tea and more :) !!!

Hiya 안녕 您好 こんにちは ! (Hiya Annyon Nihao Konnichiwa)

 Bubble tea everywhere !?
( Yi dian dian, Coco, Gong cha)

Bubble tea is soon popular in Shanghai ! of course in Seoul too, but its a daily thing to drink for Shanghai people I guess. For usually lunch or after school, work, or even for desert after dinner, I would many people queuing to get a drink in front of small bubble tea shops. And there’re so many of them too.

It’s been popular for a while, but if you wonder where the good ones are… Today’s blog is for you :)

First of all,
They all have the same order system,

  1. Chose the tea (green tea, back tea etc.)
  2. Add pearls (the bubbly circle things) > small ? big? etc.
  3. Add Sugar ? (no sugar, 30 percent, 50 percent, etc.)
  4. Add Ice ? ( no ice, room temperature, 30 percent, 50 percent, etc.)
  5. You wait until its made and you stab the plastic cover of the drink and enjoy
The problem is,,, maybe you will have trouble if you don't speak any Mandarin.
Because people will talk to you in Mandarin even if you look like a foreigner...
But ! there's still hope that they understand English.

By the way, menus are all in English anyways so if you have trouble,
just point to the menu and the selective details by finger,
in that way its easy !

Now my best bubble tea shop to drink is…

>> Yi dian dian
Why?
Its a chain shop, so you can find it everywhere around Shanghai.
Also, the price is one of the cheapest !!
The average price for one is 10 RMB.
Also, you can add pearls, coconut, milk, red beans etc. all for FREE !

Thats why its so popular (and whenever you go, theres a queue.)

Take out !

+alpha Gongcha
Bubble tea origins from …Taiwan!? Hongkong!?
But its becoming so popular all in Asia, I in fact saw it Gong cha even in Australia so.. !!! wow.

In Seoul the price is about, 3,900 - 5,500 wona(about 4,5 dollars), and in Shanghai its about 10-15 RMB(2,3 dollars). Not that expensive, right ?

they all look like the following. So now you just have to go out and find them!

The pearls surprisingly fill your stomach a lot. And you get full very fast !!!
For all shops, I would normally always chose milk tea with pearls, no/ 30 percent sugar, no/ little ice. If you have add no sugar it simply doesn’t taste at all sweet, (I think you can taste the pearls more that way) so if you like a little sweet tea, I would go for 50 - 80 percent. And the ice makes it a watery taste faster, so I wouldn’t recommend to add to much ice.

Now you know my recommendations, why don’t you find your favourite bubble tea too?:9

P.s. Not just bubble teas, but teas in general are popular in Asia, and “Happy Lemon” is one shop that I see a lot in Seoul, and Shanghai ! It’s first of all cheap and its little lemon girl character is cute <3 Better try this too :)

Connivence store /local market favorites !!
coconut juice, sesame soy milk, chocolate soy milk >>> about 3-5 RMB thus much much cheaper than the stands ! worth a try !
yay !

Cool Asia !
