Is food really safe in China !??

Hiya 안녕 您好 こんにちは ! (Hiya Annyon Nihao Konnichiwa)

I was always curious whether it is really true that Chinese food is dangerous.
In Japan, we had frightning news about Chinese imported food products, for example dumplings with food poisoning etc.
To find the truth, I decided to do so myself !

First, when I came to Shanghai I was surprised of the cheap priced vegetables!!!
But … the chemical, artificial taste just made me feel super sick.

I'm really think it depends on the grocery store you buy the food, but you should be careful when you see extremely cheap vegetables. Although, sometimes I do find  cheap but tasty fruit ! Like the mangos I bought the other day.
Being careful of production district, and the price, would be a reasonable factor to consider when buying and eating those.
Oh, and don't eat it raw!!!
Let heat go through and that may clean the chemicals off.
Or even washing the vegetables them well, with a detergent is a way !

Food are also sold in streets. Food stands are seen everywhere and that's one reason why the streets are full of those foods. It may smell unpleasant if you're not used to it, but according to one good friend of mine, some of those foods are actually really good !
Well, again it does depend on where you eat. Don't pick the unhygienic ones! But the ones where lots of people queue! That would be an indication(popularity) whether the food is good or bad.
Even though, some people say it tastes good, I am the person with a weak stomach, and I guess people who are not used to this kind of food won’t be strong either.

I personally don't think try use clean things and the ingredient, and that can bring illnesses, stomach aches ...
I don't try that much but I'd say go ahead to take a try if you’re interested !
You can eat unique!? things like insects, crayfish, pigeon meat etc.
But really, just be a little CAREFUL !!!

Going back to the question ..
Q: Is Chinese food safe !??

A: ... It depends ! If people eat it and it doesn't do harm for them, it means that it is SAFE, but the taste might not be pleasant.
Also, people with fragile stomachs like me should watch out for the labels of the ingredients, where they come from etc. and if it's actually SAFE !!!

Cool Asia !
