8 things about Inner Mongolia/ Fufuhoto :)

Hiya 안녕 您好 こんにちは ! (Hiya Annyon Nihao Konnichiwa)

If you know that there's Mongol inside China !?!?
"Fufuhoto" is its name, and it's famous for its spacious fields including the well known Mongolian tents !!

I went to a 2 day short trip to inside Mongolia (fufuhoto) so let me share my special experience ! There were so many things I wanted to share, so I summarized them into mainly 8 points!

1. Temperature :

the wind and sunlight is stronger then Shanghai ! Since it's a dry area there's barely any rain.
The tourist seasons are only from Mid June to mid August.
Too cold after August and there's no grass before June so it's only the 3 months for sight seeing !
The season now is said to be one of the best, but still it got pretty chilly(below 20degrees ) at night!!

2. Features :

The airport and train station was made in 2007, so it's quite new !! People visit Fufuhoto, and are surprised if there really a desert ! Because from the airport and its surroundings you can see new buildings everywhere. But the answer is of course, Yes there is a huge desert! But decreasing in a increasing speed!  The city is increasing its size because of population growth thus the city is developing more and more !

3. Size:
1183000 tectal, compared to Japan it's property is 3 times the size. Very SPACIOUS !!!

4. Language:
I was convinced that I have come to Inner Mongolia, when I saw all the signs in Mongolian, however actually the main use is Mandarin.
However, still Mongolian is respected in ways like the law here, to right Mongolian on ant sign etc. In fact there are 3 types; Post Mongolian, Outer Mongolian, and Neo-Mongolian, and I will briefly explain what I heard from my tour guide (believe it or not).

Basba Mongolian is the oldest Mongolian, which is too difficult that hardly no one understands now. Education wasn’t popular back then, thus only the marshals were using this language as an enigma in war time, to secret messages.

But, the outer Mongolian influenced from Russia and Uigul Mongolian(neo-mongolain) was very similar to uigul (the language back then) thus became more popular in 13-14 century. However, currently the major population in Inner Mongolia are the Han chinese that cover 78 percent of the population, thus they don’t use it in school nor they hardly learn it (with exceptions of some schools that offer the Mongolian language course to people who want to, but is very rare!)

5. Population:
Total of 24,000, but 380 only 17.8% now about 10 percent are Mongolian !
Since Mongolian Chinese are the minorities, they receive the priority in school grades for university application etc. But all that is quite complicated.

6. Transportation:
The Mongolians/nomads use horses or small cars of course, but the city people use cars, which are increasing in a dramatic speed. There are too many cars in the weekends, which made our tour bus take 30 minutes longer to get to the plain. Fee is needed for any road, and the restriction for cars is getting more serious.

7. Food:
Sheep meat and vegetables!
Sheep's are the special resources in the fields were the nomads live, however it was only eaten on special occasions. Since plantation is not suitable for the dry land, they ate hardly any vegetables, but these days any food/ vegetables are available. Sheep milk is drunk a lot too !

8. House:
The  nomads of course live in the PAO: The convenient houses strong in any condition/ weather. These days, real nomads hardly exist, however I experienced one night and two days in a small Pao, which was quite comfortable, except the hard beds, no light … Hmm.. It was like a camping tent, in good quality …!

I was mixing up both the city life and nomad life in inner mongolia because its so different even though its the same place. Fufuhoto had every thing, shopping malls with any kind of restaurant inside, clothes , all the brands etc. But, if you take a ride 2,3 hours to the coast, you barely see the high buildings but 360 degrees of plain/field with sheep, cows, horses , and just grass !!! The sun was strong but the weather was lovely, and the most gorgeous thing was the nature; beautiful starry sky, the sunset, sunrise etc… Horse riding in the beautiful fresh atmosphere was refreshing too !!!

I wrote too much this time, but you can tell how much I enjoyed from it ! To be honest, it wasn’t Amazing, but it was still a fresh experience.

Cool Asia !
