New Year from Hanoi : Vietnam !! [*Late Post ! 2016 Chinese New Year]

*Apologies for a late post, but still worth a share of how new year was in Hanoi, Vietnam! 

Sharing some viivid atmosphere, enjoyable, and memorable times in Vietnam :D

New Year from Hanoi : Vietnam !!

February 7th (new years eve) 8th (new year’s day)!

What a day it was :) !

Most shops, restaurants were closed,(you can see people sitting outside infront of the shops and drinking alcohol, whilst playing and having chats spending there new year together)

weather was good but quite cool, not too cold, but not hot either

Fireworks by the lake with a massive population (families and families there) .

Roads near the lake were stopped, so that people can walk around freely.

Fireworks were amazing !!

Huge and powerful !

It was for about 15 minutes, 12:00-12:15 AM 

and countless people were stopping by, 

even in the middle of the road to see the fireworks. 

The trees and buildings unfortunately covered up much parts of the fireworks,

 but still it was worth watching !!

New year’s morning… 

Numerous people doing photo time !

First, I thought it was a model or something, 

but then I realised there were many people 

who were taking pictures everywhere around the street.

Mostly young beautiful women dressed in their traditional clothes, 

being taken pictures by a couple of men with professional cameras. 

It was interesting to see, the street becoming like a photo booth.

Morning = Breakfast !

Barely no shop open…

So finding and store open was it was extremely difficult.

Luckily Circle K: convenience store was open,,,, 

but didn't have much breakfast food left over, 

and one or two local shop(bakery, or Pho:noodle shop) was open…

We asked the noodle local shop if we can do take away, but they said no, 

so we bought some pastery at a local shop ! 

the taste was not bad but not that good either… (only if "the LETTLE HANOI" was open !!:
it is a popular bakery/ cafe you can eat brunch !)

This Sandwich is what I bought for breakfast at the airport!
With chili sauce and vegetables it tastes even better!!!

For lunch, we went to eat Pho!!! It was tasty ! with different types such as Pork, chicken, tomato broth etc…

But one downside is that any food here were quite costly. 

Apparently, the local shops/restaurants open price the menu’s twice to three times more than normal.

Nevertheless, thankfully we did not starve but got to eat many delicious Vietnamese food*!

New Year’s banners, illumination lights, ornaments, flags and more … !!

everywhere around the streets !! making this happy atmosphere.

Vietnamese believe, if the new years day (and the coming few days, one week)

 has a good weather, the whole year would be a good year !

People were worried because of the unusual weather in the last weeks 

where even snow was present with the temperature going down to 8 degrees!??

But …. Luckily,the weather has changed ! 

Great weather this new year week, thus a happy entire year ! :D

P.S. By the way... it was my first time to ride Vietnam Airlines (economy) but it was unexpectedly good !! (good service, pleasant flight) !
